$10k Grants are back open! 💰

Your bi-weekly dose of bookkeeping and small business financial tips to help you make sound financial decisions with confidence.

Happy Wednesday, Reader!

June 17th is right around the corner, are you prepared to make your second estimated tax payment?

This week, we're talking checklists, and you're getting an exclusive freebie for being a subscriber!

Today's News:

Verizon's 10k Grants are back open!

As part of their goal to support 1 million small businesses by 2030, they've reopened a new round of grant funding open to small businesses.

All you have to do is register, take two FREE courses, and submit your application by June 28th; what are you waiting for?

Do you have a checklist for that?

No matter how expert you may be, well designed checklists can improve outcomes.

Think of it [a checklist] as milestones. Your base checklists are the milestones of workflow steps that need to be done. Then, you add the subtasks, descriptions, and best practices.

Here are three benefits of using checklists:

They keep you accountable. Who else reminds you to upload your receipts each month, reconcile, or even follow up on overdue invoices. Having checklists for your bookkeeping tasks (or any other tasks) will help ensure you complete what you need to and remind you if you're falling behind.

Checklists help increase motivation by helping achieve small goals. With every task that is completed, you feel a sense of achievement. When you are satisfied at work, you are motivated to invest in yourself and in your business.

Checklists make it easy to identify repetitive tasks or time-consuming tasks. For those of you with digitized processes or software, checklists are the first step towards automating these tasks. Imagine the time you will save by automation. Perhaps you notice each month you're taking a ton of time going through receipts, and you learn the value of utilizing an app because of it.

There isn't anything more satisfying than checking off another item on your list.

(okay, maybe signing a new client 😂)
